Back to the Drawing Board

So Dominance and Deception, my first novel, will be out in October. And the publisher doesn’t want to release any of their future publications in the present tense. Sooooo… I have to change it to the past tense. Which really sucks, because it’s mostly written in stream-of-consciousness.

*head-desk* It’s going to take me forever to get it sounding decent in past. But I like working with TEB, so I’m going to give it a go. It’s going to drive me nuts, but I’ll give it a go.

Faye and Zach are not going to be happy… XD

OMG! I don’t envy you that task. Rewriting the whole book REALLY sucks. I had to rewrite a scene recently because of an offensive vegetable and I nearly gnawed through the desk trying to get the tone right. BTW: I hope this doesn’t sound entirely selfish, but I am incredibly grateful for the hint that TEB won’t publish present tense any more. So, thank you for sharing this.

No problem, Mina. 🙂 Good info to have, I think!

My editor is being really supportive – I couldn’t ask for better (thank you, Becca, if you’re reading this!). But yeah, it’s a task I’m a little bit hesitant about, because I don’t want to lose the stream-of-consciousness bits. We’ll see, anyway.
